Additionally, I bring 14.5 years of additional professional experience from public, private, and non-profit sectors to complement Instructional Designer role.

DESIGN PHILOSPHY

As a former classroom teacher, my Instructional Design Philosophy will always be rooted in best practices for andragogy and evidenced-based solutions.

I rely on collaborative approaches to design, including agile-focused methodologies.

EDUCATION

I have developed a uniquely specialized skillset developed from fields of instructional design, healthcare advocacy/education, curriculum development, graphic design, professional education, program development, and training facilitation in various fields.

FOCUS

My focus (and passion) lies in creating learning objects, learning environments and educational materials optimized for accessibility. I demonstrate a strong foundation in inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) international standards.

Accessibility and inclusive practices are not an afterthought for me as an Instructional Designer; they both are at the forefront of my design practices, because I believe everyone should have the opportunity to come to the table and access educational opportunities.

I earned a Master of Science (Summa Cum Laude) in Education, Training, and Instructional Technology for Instructional Design from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

I also hold a Bachelor of Science (Summa Cum Laude) in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Duquesne University, with additional coursework from Duquesne University’s Honors College.
